HISTORY

International Conference on Contemporary Social and Political Affairs (ICoCSPA) is an international conference held by the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) Airlangga University. ICoCSPA is an annual event held by FISIP Universitas Airlangga regularly and in 2018 is entering the fourth year of operation. ICoSPA raises the social and political issues that are being discussed in academic circles as well as some who have intense problems that become the major theme of the conference.

ICoCSPA was first held in 2015. ICoSPA 2015 was held as part of the 61st anniversary of FISIP University of Airlangga’s natalist dies. Initially, ICoCSPA was held under the name ICoDA (International Conference on Democracy Accountability). In 2016, the name ICoDA changed to ICoCSPA to date. Each year, ICoCSPA receives hundreds of abstract participants who register to participate in the event. Of the abstracts that have been entered will be screened first before declared eligible to attend the presentation at the conference.

Participants who participated in the implementation of ICoCSPA not only from within the country but also came from abroad. At the beginning of ICoCSPA implementation in 2015, there were some participants from Malaysia, Japan, Taiwan, and Nigeria. In 2016 the number of participants who participated and had the opportunity to present the proceedings of 150 people and came from Africa, Palestine, Australia and of course from various regions in Indonesia. The implementation of ICoCSPA 2016 holds the theme of Reexamining Governance: Strengthening Citizenship in a Changing World. At ICoCSPA 2017 a total of 94 participants became the presenter of scientific articles in the conference that addressed the theme of Development and Security in Risk Society.

OBJECTIVES

  • Building a forum for the exchange of knowledge ideas and research among academics of social and political sciences.
  • Building networks among academics and professionals within the scope of Social Sciences and Political Science.
  • Enrich academic ability and provide enlightenment to faculty, undergraduate and postgraduate through presentation and publication.
  • Adding dissemination of scientific work and research.
